How this coin is mined
Catcoin is mined with Scrypt ASICs. Its network is small, so a single large machine can be a noticeable share of it.
Mining this coin: FAQ
Is Catcoin mining profitable right now?
At 5¢/kWh the most profitable Catcoin miner today, the Lucky Miner LG, earns about $0 a day and burns $0.0144 of electricity, leaving about $0 a day. 0 of 63 Scrypt miners we track are profitable at that price. Set your own power price above and the whole page recalculates.
What is the best miner for Catcoin?
Ranked by profit per day at 5¢/kWh: Lucky Miner LG ($0/day, 11 MH/s at 12 W), PlebSource Hammer Miner Scrypt ($0/day, 105 MH/s at 25 W), Goldshell DG Card ($0/day, 80 MH/s at 65 W). The most efficient machine we track is the Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Air at 149.0 J/GH; cheap power favours raw hashrate, expensive power favours efficiency, so the order changes with your price.
At what electricity price does Catcoin mining stop paying?
At today's price and difficulty the Lucky Miner LG breaks even at about 0¢ per kWh: above that it costs more to run than it earns. The most efficient machine, the Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Air, keeps paying up to about 3.6¢ per kWh. Pool fees (usually 1-4%), cooling and any hosting margin come on top, so plan with a buffer. Of the 63 machines we track, 5 are in profit at 3¢/kWh, 0 at 6¢ and 0 at 10¢, which is why miners chase cheap power.
Should I mine Catcoin solo or in a pool?
On its own, one Lucky Miner LG would find a Catcoin block about once every 2.6 years on average, and luck can stretch that a long way. That is why almost everyone mines in a pool: the pool finds blocks every day and pays each miner by its share of the work. FPPS and PPS+ pools pay a fixed amount per share (fees often 2-4%), PPLNS pools pay out only when the pool finds a block (often 0-2%, but lumpier).
How do Catcoin's block rewards and supply work?
Right now each block pays about 25.0 CAT including fees, with a block every 10 minutes on average, about 3,434 CAT a day. 16.13 million of the 21.00 million maximum are already out (77%).
What hardware mines Scrypt, and what matters when buying?
Scrypt was designed to be memory-hard, but ASICs took over around 2014. Litecoin and Dogecoin share it and are merge-mined (AuxPoW): a Scrypt machine works on both at once and the pool pays out both coins, often with smaller merge-mined coins such as Pepecoin, Dingocoin and Luckycoin on top. Makers include Bitmain (Antminer L series), Elphapex (DG series) and VolcMiner, with Goldshell for small home units. Hashrate is quoted in GH/s. We track 63 Scrypt machines; judge them by J/GH (efficiency) against your power price, then by price per GH, cooling type and the warranty and repair options where you will run them.
How do I start mining Catcoin?
Pick a machine for your power price (see the table above), then sort out power and cooling: most ASICs need 200-277 V at 10-30 A each, hydro models usually 380-415 V three-phase and a cooling loop, and air-cooled units are too loud for a home. Set up a Catcoin wallet, point the machine at a pool, and watch temperatures in the first days. If you don't have cheap power and space, hosting is the usual route: a host runs the machine for an all-in price per kWh. CryptoSites.io lists both powered sites and hosting.

NewBitcoin Difficulty Is Down 15% From Its Peak. Should You Buy a Mining Site Now?
Lower difficulty means each machine earns more bitcoin. But difficulty follows hashrate, and hashrate can come back fast. Here's how to price a site on a range, not on today's number.

Where the World's Hashrate Is Moving in 2026 (and What It Means for Site Prices)
The network stopped shrinking in Q3 2026, but the map underneath it is still changing fast. Developed markets are giving up hashrate to AI, while a group of energy-rich countries keeps absorbing new machines.

Hashprice Near $40: Which Mining Sites Still Make Money (and Which Owners Will Sell)
At about $40 per PH per day, a fleet's efficiency sets a hard ceiling on the electricity cost it can afford. Here's where that ceiling sits, who is under pressure, and what it means for anyone buying a site.
