Litecoin LTC
scryptRefreshed every 15 min
Litecoin, launched in October 2011 by Charlie Lee, is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies. Built from Bitcoin's code, it has faster 2.5-minute blocks, an 84 million coin cap and the Scrypt mining algorithm.

What would this coin earn you?
How this coin is mined
Litecoin is mined with Scrypt ASICs and merge-mined with Dogecoin, so one Scrypt machine earns both coins at once. Blocks every 2.5 minutes; the reward halves every 840,000 blocks (about four years).
Mining this coin: FAQ
Is Litecoin mining profitable right now?
At 5¢/kWh the most profitable Litecoin miner today, the Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Hydro, earns about $31.79 a day and burns $9.39 of electricity, leaving about $22.40 a day. 37 of 63 Scrypt miners we track are profitable at that price. Set your own power price above and the whole page recalculates.
What is the best miner for Litecoin?
Ranked by profit per day at 5¢/kWh: Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Hydro ($22.40/day, 52.5 GH/s at 7,823 W), Bitmain Antminer L11 Hyd 2U (35Gh) ($14.26/day, 35 GH/s at 5,775 W), Bitmain Antminer L11 Hyd 6U (33Gh) ($13.17/day, 33 GH/s at 5,676 W). The most efficient machine we track is the Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Air at 149.0 J/GH; cheap power favours raw hashrate, expensive power favours efficiency, so the order changes with your price.
At what electricity price does Litecoin mining stop paying?
At today's price and difficulty the Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Hydro breaks even at about 17¢ per kWh: above that it costs more to run than it earns. Pool fees (usually 1-4%), cooling and any hosting margin come on top, so plan with a buffer. Of the 63 machines we track, 43 are in profit at 3¢/kWh, 37 at 6¢ and 21 at 10¢, which is why miners chase cheap power.
How long does a Litecoin miner take to pay for itself?
The fastest payback at 5¢/kWh is the Bitmain Antminer L9 Hyd 2U (27Gh): about $2,499 for the machine, $9.55 profit a day, so roughly 9 months if price and difficulty stayed where they are today. The top earner, the Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Hydro, costs $9,799 and pays back in about 14 months. In practice difficulty usually rises as new machines ship, so real payback is longer; a falling coin price stretches it further, a rally shortens it.
How much LTC does one miner make per day?
The Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Hydro, at 52.5 GH/s, mines about 0.519 LTC a day today, worth $31.79. That is 0.0022% of the network's 2.41 PH/s. The whole network mints about 3,624 LTC a day ($222,089), and every miner earns its share of hashrate.
Should I mine Litecoin solo or in a pool?
On its own, one Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Hydro would find a Litecoin block about once every 3 months on average, and luck can stretch that a long way. That is why almost everyone mines in a pool: the pool finds blocks every day and pays each miner by its share of the work. FPPS and PPS+ pools pay a fixed amount per share (fees often 2-4%), PPLNS pools pay out only when the pool finds a block (often 0-2%, but lumpier). Pick a pool that pays the merge-mined coins too: Litecoin and Dogecoin come together, often with smaller Scrypt coins on top.
How do Litecoin's block rewards and supply work?
Right now each block pays about 6.250 LTC including fees, with a block every 2 minutes on average, about 3,624 LTC a day. 76.32 million of the 84.00 million maximum are already out (91%). The reward fell to 6.25 LTC at the August 2023 halving; the next halving (to 3.125 LTC) is expected around mid-2027. Difficulty retargets every 2,016 blocks (about 3.5 days). Merge-mined Dogecoin usually pays a large part of a Scrypt miner's income.
What hardware mines Scrypt, and what matters when buying?
Scrypt was designed to be memory-hard, but ASICs took over around 2014. Litecoin and Dogecoin share it and are merge-mined (AuxPoW): a Scrypt machine works on both at once and the pool pays out both coins, often with smaller merge-mined coins such as Pepecoin, Dingocoin and Luckycoin on top. Makers include Bitmain (Antminer L series), Elphapex (DG series) and VolcMiner, with Goldshell for small home units. Hashrate is quoted in GH/s. We track 63 Scrypt machines; judge them by J/GH (efficiency) against your power price, then by price per GH, cooling type and the warranty and repair options where you will run them.
What does a 1 MW Litecoin mining site earn?
One megawatt of power runs about 127 Bitdeer SealMiner DL1 Hydro units. At 5¢/kWh that is roughly $86,491 a month in profit before pool fees, cooling overhead and staff, for about $1.24M of machines. Site profit is very sensitive to the power price: every 1¢/kWh costs about $7,296 a month at one megawatt. CryptoSites.io lists powered land, container farms and hosting with the power price on every listing.
How do I start mining Litecoin?
Pick a machine for your power price (see the table above), then sort out power and cooling: most ASICs need 200-277 V at 10-30 A each, hydro models usually 380-415 V three-phase and a cooling loop, and air-cooled units are too loud for a home. Set up a Litecoin wallet, point the machine at a pool, and watch temperatures in the first days. If you don't have cheap power and space, hosting is the usual route: a host runs the machine for an all-in price per kWh. CryptoSites.io lists both powered sites and hosting.

NewBitcoin Difficulty Is Down 15% From Its Peak. Should You Buy a Mining Site Now?
Lower difficulty means each machine earns more bitcoin. But difficulty follows hashrate, and hashrate can come back fast. Here's how to price a site on a range, not on today's number.

Where the World's Hashrate Is Moving in 2026 (and What It Means for Site Prices)
The network stopped shrinking in Q3 2026, but the map underneath it is still changing fast. Developed markets are giving up hashrate to AI, while a group of energy-rich countries keeps absorbing new machines.

Hashprice Near $40: Which Mining Sites Still Make Money (and Which Owners Will Sell)
At about $40 per PH per day, a fleet's efficiency sets a hard ceiling on the electricity cost it can afford. Here's where that ceiling sits, who is under pressure, and what it means for anyone buying a site.
