Questions

Mining this coin: FAQ

Is Radiant mining profitable right now?

At 5¢/kWh the most profitable Radiant miner today, the IceRiver RX0, earns about $0.22 a day and burns $0.12 of electricity, leaving about $0.1 a day. 1 of 2 SHA-512/256d miners we track are profitable at that price. Set your own power price above and the whole page recalculates.

What is the best miner for Radiant?

Ranked by profit per day at 5¢/kWh: IceRiver RX0 ($0.1/day, 260 GH/s at 100 W), DragonBall A11 ($0/day, 3.2 TH/s at 2,300 W). The most efficient machine we track is the IceRiver RX0 at 384.6 J/TH; cheap power favours raw hashrate, expensive power favours efficiency, so the order changes with your price.

At what electricity price does Radiant mining stop paying?

At today's price and difficulty the IceRiver RX0 breaks even at about 9.2¢ per kWh: above that it costs more to run than it earns. Pool fees (usually 1-4%), cooling and any hosting margin come on top, so plan with a buffer. Of the 2 machines we track, 2 are in profit at 3¢/kWh, 1 at 6¢ and 0 at 10¢, which is why miners chase cheap power.

How much RXD does one miner make per day?

The IceRiver RX0, at 260 GH/s, mines about 5,641 RXD a day today, worth $0.22. That is 0.18% of the network's 147 TH/s. The whole network mints about 3.75 million RXD a day ($146.25), and every miner earns its share of hashrate.

Should I mine Radiant solo or in a pool?

On its own, one IceRiver RX0 would find a Radiant block about once every 2 days on average, and luck can stretch that a long way. With blocks this frequent, even a single machine gets regular rewards; pools still smooth the payouts. FPPS and PPS+ pools pay a fixed amount per share (fees often 2-4%), PPLNS pools pay out only when the pool finds a block (often 0-2%, but lumpier).

How do Radiant's block rewards and supply work?

Right now each block pays about 12,500 RXD including fees, with a block every 5 minutes on average, about 3.75 million RXD a day. 14.32 billion of the 21.00 billion maximum are already out (68%).

What hardware mines SHA-512/256d, and what matters when buying?

Radiant uses double SHA-512/256, a Bitcoin-style hash with a 512-bit core. It is mined on GPUs and ASICs. We track 2 SHA-512/256d machines; judge them by J/TH (efficiency) against your power price, then by price per TH, cooling type and the warranty and repair options where you will run them.

Can I run a whole mining site on Radiant?

Not on its own. Radiant's whole network is about 147 TH/s, and one megawatt of IceRiver RX0 units would add 2.6 PH/s, several times the network. Difficulty would jump and the earnings shown here would melt away. Large sites point their machines at the biggest coin for the algorithm and treat small coins like Radiant as a side bet for a few units.

How do I start mining Radiant?

Pick a machine for your power price (see the table above), then sort out power and cooling: most ASICs need 200-277 V at 10-30 A each, hydro models usually 380-415 V three-phase and a cooling loop, and air-cooled units are too loud for a home. Set up a Radiant wallet, point the machine at a pool, and watch temperatures in the first days. If you don't have cheap power and space, hosting is the usual route: a host runs the machine for an all-in price per kWh. CryptoSites.io lists both powered sites and hosting.
