Siacoin launched in June 2015 and powers Sia, a decentralized cloud-storage market where hosts rent out disk space and are paid in SC through storage contracts.

How this coin is mined
Siacoin pays for Sia's decentralized storage network and is mined with Blake2b ASICs, the same machines that mine Bitcoin BLAKE2b.
Mining this coin: FAQ
Is Siacoin mining profitable right now?
At 5¢/kWh the most profitable Siacoin miner today, the iBelink BM-S3+, earns about $31.07 a day and burns $4.08 of electricity, leaving about $26.99 a day. 14 of 14 Blake2b-Sia miners we track are profitable at that price. Set your own power price above and the whole page recalculates.
What is the best miner for Siacoin?
Ranked by profit per day at 5¢/kWh: iBelink BM-S3+ ($26.99/day, 25 TH/s at 3,400 W), iBeLink BM-S3 ($19.89/day, 19 TH/s at 3,100 W), Goldshell SC6-SE ($17.16/day, 17 TH/s at 3,300 W). The most efficient machine we track is the iBelink BM-S3+ at 136.0 J/TH; cheap power favours raw hashrate, expensive power favours efficiency, so the order changes with your price.
At what electricity price does Siacoin mining stop paying?
At today's price and difficulty the iBelink BM-S3+ breaks even at about 38¢ per kWh: above that it costs more to run than it earns. Pool fees (usually 1-4%), cooling and any hosting margin come on top, so plan with a buffer. Of the 14 machines we track, 14 are in profit at 3¢/kWh, 13 at 6¢ and 10 at 10¢, which is why miners chase cheap power.
How long does a Siacoin miner take to pay for itself?
The fastest payback at 5¢/kWh is the iBeLink BM-S3: about $7,999 for the machine, $19.89 profit a day, so roughly 13 months if price and difficulty stayed where they are today. The top earner, the iBelink BM-S3+, costs $13,999 and pays back in about 17 months. In practice difficulty usually rises as new machines ship, so real payback is longer; a falling coin price stretches it further, a rally shortens it. On a network this small, a few extra machines also push difficulty up fast.
How much SC does one miner make per day?
The iBelink BM-S3+, at 25 TH/s, mines about 36,944 SC a day today, worth $31.07. That is 0.89% of the network's 2.81 PH/s. The whole network mints about 4.17 million SC a day ($3,505), and every miner earns its share of hashrate.
Should I mine Siacoin solo or in a pool?
On its own, one iBelink BM-S3+ would find a Siacoin block about once every 19 hours on average, and luck can stretch that a long way. With blocks this frequent, even a single machine gets regular rewards; pools still smooth the payouts. FPPS and PPS+ pools pay a fixed amount per share (fees often 2-4%), PPLNS pools pay out only when the pool finds a block (often 0-2%, but lumpier).
How do Siacoin's block rewards and supply work?
Right now each block pays about 30,000 SC including fees, with a block every 10 minutes on average, about 4.17 million SC a day. About 56.03 billion SC exist today and there is no hard cap.
What hardware mines Blake2b-Sia, and what matters when buying?
Blake2b-Sia is Sia's version of the Blake2b hash. It is cheap to compute, so dedicated ASICs (Goldshell, iBeLink and others) took over early. Since 30 August 2026 the same machines also mine Bitcoin BLAKE2b, so hashrate moves between the two coins whenever one pays more. We track 14 Blake2b-Sia machines; judge them by J/TH (efficiency) against your power price, then by price per TH, cooling type and the warranty and repair options where you will run them.
Can I run a whole mining site on Siacoin?
Not on its own. Siacoin's whole network is about 2.81 PH/s, and one megawatt of iBelink BM-S3+ units would add 7.35 PH/s, several times the network. Difficulty would jump and the earnings shown here would melt away. Large sites point their machines at the biggest coin for the algorithm and treat small coins like Siacoin as a side bet for a few units.
How do I start mining Siacoin?
Pick a machine for your power price (see the table above), then sort out power and cooling: most ASICs need 200-277 V at 10-30 A each, hydro models usually 380-415 V three-phase and a cooling loop, and air-cooled units are too loud for a home. Set up a Siacoin wallet, point the machine at a pool, and watch temperatures in the first days. If you don't have cheap power and space, hosting is the usual route: a host runs the machine for an all-in price per kWh. CryptoSites.io lists both powered sites and hosting.

NewBitcoin Difficulty Is Down 15% From Its Peak. Should You Buy a Mining Site Now?
Lower difficulty means each machine earns more bitcoin. But difficulty follows hashrate, and hashrate can come back fast. Here's how to price a site on a range, not on today's number.

Where the World's Hashrate Is Moving in 2026 (and What It Means for Site Prices)
The network stopped shrinking in Q3 2026, but the map underneath it is still changing fast. Developed markets are giving up hashrate to AI, while a group of energy-rich countries keeps absorbing new machines.

Hashprice Near $40: Which Mining Sites Still Make Money (and Which Owners Will Sell)
At about $40 per PH per day, a fleet's efficiency sets a hard ceiling on the electricity cost it can afford. Here's where that ceiling sits, who is under pressure, and what it means for anyone buying a site.
