At today's price and difficulty the Bitmain Antminer S23 Hyd 3U breaks even at about 19¢ per kWh: above that it costs more to run than it earns. Pool fees (usually 1-4%), cooling and any hosting margin come on top, so plan with a buffer. Of the 248 machines we track, 186 are in profit at 3¢/kWh, 136 at 6¢ and 83 at 10¢, which is why miners chase cheap power.

The fastest payback at 5¢/kWh is the Bitmain Antminer S21 Pro (234Th): about $702.30 for the machine, $6.17 profit a day, so roughly 4 months if price and difficulty stayed where they are today. The top earner, the Bitmain Antminer S23 Hyd 3U, costs $15,499 and pays back in about 13 months. In practice difficulty usually rises as new machines ship, so real payback is longer; a falling coin price stretches it further, a rally shortens it. On a network this small, a few extra machines also push difficulty up fast.

The Bitmain Antminer S23 Hyd 3U, at 1.16 PH/s, mines about 5,473 QUAI a day today, worth $51.47. That is 1.1% of the network's 105 PH/s. The whole network mints about 502,388 QUAI a day ($4,725), and every miner earns its share of hashrate.

On its own, one Bitmain Antminer S23 Hyd 3U would find a Quai Network block about once every hour on average, and luck can stretch that a long way. With blocks this frequent, even a single machine gets regular rewards; pools still smooth the payouts. FPPS and PPS+ pools pay a fixed amount per share (fees often 2-4%), PPLNS pools pay out only when the pool finds a block (often 0-2%, but lumpier).

Right now each block pays about 7.989 QUAI including fees, with several blocks every second, about 502,388 QUAI a day. About 1.14 billion QUAI exist today and there is no hard cap.

SHA-256 (hashed twice per attempt) is the most competitive mining market there is, and only ASICs have counted since 2013. The main makers are Bitmain (Antminer), MicroBT (WhatsMiner), Canaan (Avalon) and Bitdeer (SealMiner). Air-cooled units are loud (around 75 dB) and need a lot of airflow; hydro (water-cooled) and immersion models pack more hashrate per rack and last longer in hot climates, but need a cooling loop or tank. Most air-cooled machines run on 200-277 V, many hydro models on 380-415 V three-phase. Not on its own. Quai Network's whole network is about 105 PH/s, and one megawatt of Bitmain Antminer S23 Hyd 3U units would add 104 PH/s, a large part of it. Difficulty would jump and the earnings shown here would melt away. Large sites point their machines at the biggest coin for the algorithm and treat small coins like Quai Network as a side bet for a few units.

Pick a machine for your power price (see the table above), then sort out power and cooling: most ASICs need 200-277 V at 10-30 A each, hydro models usually 380-415 V three-phase and a cooling loop, and air-cooled units are too loud for a home.
